What we do:
Plats.
A plat is legal map that gets recorded. Mammoth provides platting services in Montana and Wyoming for subdivisions, minor subdivisions, and “exempt plats.” Exempt plats in Montana include family transfers, agricultural exemptions, and common boundary relocations. Mammoth also provides legal descriptions for route surveys or easement corridors, complete with easement exhibits for recordation.
Rules for and regulations subdivisions and subdivision exemptions can be complex, which is why our lead surveyor frequently meets clients in person to discuss the goals of the project and the survey options available.
Maps.
We map land, water, above ground features, and subsurface features using drones, GPS receivers, robotic total stations, and scanners. We have delivered design detailed basemaps and ALTA surveys for major commercial retailers such as Costco, complete with surveyed utility locates, subsuface measuredowns, and detailed topography of a high-volume roadway. We have delivered detailed existing condition building drawings for facilities at businesses like FedEx so they can perform building expansion.
Mammoth Survey provides floodplain surveys, such as elevation certificates, LOMAs, LOMRs. We also have staff experienced in performing large scale Montana DNRC FEMA floodplain mapping (400+ miles) with bathymetric cross sections.
Construction Staking.
Mammoth provides survey construction support services, including staking, for contractors or project owners. Our large project experience includes staking the 32nd St. W. corridor from Gabel Rd. to King Ave. West for the City of Billings and staking a UPS distribution facility in Bozeman for a general contractor. We strive to provide good service on construction projects by providing timely service and documenting work performed and any issues encountered. Construction is always stressful, but we do our best to make the survey part as easy as possible.
